Not much to say today. I “fixed” some shelves with nails so now they actually stay. People were asking me why I had a stuffed bear on my desk. And for some reason I had a monster headache since lunch time or so. It was an okay day though. Not to mention the huge thunderstorm going on outside right now.

Really I ment to fall off the rope and just hang here. No really...

Peek-a-boo Look at the new view from my desk. (That's my teaching partner.)

So today I actually belong somewhere and am not in limbo anymore. That’s right I finally moved my desk to the 6th grade area and feel more like I belong. Shadows of the old year are disappearing slowly with the creeping sun.

At work today I made labels for grades 6, 4 and 3. That is 4 sets per class and 3 classes in each grade. I was going to make them for grade 5 as well but the students weren’t completely finalized yet so we held off on that one. It sounds boring but I didn’t waste the time. After we got the label-er set up to work with a computer and excel files all I had to do was copy the data and hit the print button. Then just make sure the label-er stays full. While that was going on I studied Japanese and 6th grade math. If I’m going to teach it I need to make sure I understand it.

Was it 2+2=4 or 2+2=1? Both are correct depending on how you think about them.

Lazy days bread lazy pictures…at least they did today.

I think I'm winning the staring contest...

Today was a great day except for one tiny thing. The wind was oppressive and loud. However I didn’t let that stop me from having a nice long walk. On the way I happened to buy 6kg bread flour.
Guess what I’m going to be doing in these coming weeks.

Patty cake patty cake bakers man. Bake me some bread as fast as you can.

No I’m not being emo but apparently my bear has some pent up issues that he hasn’t discussed with me yet. Lindsey, Rob and I kind of crashed the Japanese farewell party for Mr. Ikeya but much drinking was enjoyed by all.

Arrrrrrgh. The tabasco burns!

Lurking in wait... Will you be next?
Today we actually had students at school! However it was the last day and it was the last time they would be my students.
Sad and happy at the same time. We only had them for half a day and after that it got kind of boring because the real work doesn’t get moving until next week. What do teachers do with the extra time…? I think the pictures say it all.

No bears were harmed in the making of this picture.

Only a sticky residue remains.

Not a tray was left to be filled with stuff.

No longer is work hung with care.
It’s the second to last day of the current school year and having no kids around for it stinks. All the decorations and student work has been taken down to be returned to the students. With out them a school seems so empty and dismal. It didn’t help the mood having a cold cloudy day and an evening black out. Hopefully tomorrow is a fitting end for a school year.

It's doodeling with a purpose.
With everything going on I’m still trying to make sense of it. So in that sense life continues as usual. I just wish all the “big” things would stop happening at the same time. Earthquakes, work and social matters tend to make rather weary company.

Today was a little gloomy but my bike is fixed. After pert near a year I finally took it in to get the back tire and inner tube replaced. I can ride a bike again but my muscles aren’t used to it. Kaori was also nice enough to take me to softbank so I could get an i phone. So far it’s still at new toy status.

These treads were made for riding... and that's just what they'll do
